FAMILY DINNERS
Family Dinners at our church were created to promote fellowship among members and the community. We hope it will generate new people to attend worship service on Sunday mornings.
Our first dinner was held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 with the theme "Italian." The Italian dishes were plentiful - Wedding Soup, tossed salad, Caprese` salad, pizza, spaghetti, ravioli, lasagna, meatballs, stuffed shells, pizzelles, and much, much more. We created an Italian dinner atmosphere with music and candlelight. Janet Shriner entertained with an Italian trivia guessing game. The dining room was packed, but we always make room for more.
The most recent family dinner was held on Saturday, July 21, with the theme being Sandwiches,Salads, and Ice Cream. Even though attendance was 20 people, all had a wonderful time. Entertainment was provided by the Kazoo Players with googely eyes. There were self-drawn portraits and a candy jar guessing game.
Reservations are not necessary, and no admission is charged. We only ask that you bring friends and a covered dish related to the dinner theme. An insert will be in the Sunday bulletin the two weeks prior to the next dinner with the theme and examples of what to bring. A sign-up sheet will be passed around for you to reserve the dish you plan to bring, to assure we have a good variety and not the same from several people.
Our next Family Dinner will be Saturday, September 15 at 6:00 p.m. - the theme is undetermined, and open for suggestions. The dinners are planned with YOU in mind, so please let us know what you would like to have. Any ideas pertaining to the dinner theme are always welcome. Southern BBQ anyone?
