Serving

Serving starts here.

Volunteer at church.

“Jesus says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

We are a church on the move. We need every church member to act on faith and move within the walls of the church through service. Think about a church without small group leaders and teachers, without weekend tech folks, communion preparers, gardeners, etc. What would it be like? Reaching into our church family prepares the church for action. That’s what a church on the move is all about, and it starts right here at home. Everyone is needed to make this church move down the path God has placed us on.

As a church, we value serving. Why? Jesus commands us to serve the cold, the hungry, the widows and orphans…those in need…and to do this in His name. Because we are a growing church, we have new volunteer needs so we can reach those that God brings through our doors. God has chosen us to serve and through our actions, attitudes and words, we will impact the Kingdom of God and the lives of His people for eternity.

At Bentleyville UMC, we strongly believe each person was designed with a purpose…a purpose to live our lives for Christ and through this; we use our talents and gifts to serve Him and grow His kingdom. We are made to serve Him.

Are you willing to help distribute food at the food bank, or maybe help package food for Meals on wheels? Can you help others as we build a handicap ramp, or just bring a cold drink to those working? Perhaps your physical abilities are limited, but can you still bend over to pick up a penny that lies in the parking lot? Or decorate a table for a funeral dinner? Each task moves the church forward!
